Purpose Events is a media and events company that produces and manages HealthIMPACT Live events, webinars, podcasts, newsletters, and online communities.  In addition Purpose Events partners on custom events including NODE.Health’s Digital Medicine Conference. Purpose Events is a full-service end-to-end content and event producer offering production, marketing, and business development services to organizations that need help building a sustainable and profitable event portfolio. We pride ourselves on data-driven content, reviewed and delivered by prominent experts who break through the hype to deliver fresh perspectives and actionable, results-driving insights. Data and information are at the heart of our business and we take matters of data privacy seriously. We respect our relationships with customers, clients, visitors, sponsors, exhibitors, suppliers, and colleagues, and the trust they place in us to hold their personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how the members of Purpose Events collect, use and protect personal information across our brands. To keep up with changing legislation, best practices, and changes in how we process personal information, we may revise this Privacy Policy at any time without notice by posting a revised version on this website. To stay up to date on any changes, check back periodically.   

Data Collected

  • Contact details, such as name, email address, address, and telephone number

  • Payment information, such as a credit or debit card number or bank account details

  • Website and communication usage information, such as correspondence and details of your use of our website and services obtained through cookies or other tracking technologies.

  • Attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, and speakers at our events

Purpose Events will never ask you to share sensitive personal information, such as your trade union membership, sexual orientation, or racial identity, on your public profile or in another public manner. Please do not post or add personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly available and be aware that sharing the non-public sensitive data of others without their permission is a violation.​

How Data is Used

If you participate in one of our events as a speaker, sponsor, exhibitor, or attendee, your personal information will be used in connection with the running of the event, to handle payments and recover debts. We will also use your personal information to maintain databases that allow us to assess your qualities as a speaker or sponsor/exhibitor, promote events and encourage further engagement at our events. 

In addition, photos and videos are taken at our events, which may feature attendees, speakers, sponsors or exhibitors. Where we have taken photos and videos at our events that feature you as an attendee, sponsor, or exhibitor, to the extent permitted by applicable data protection laws, those photos and videos may be used for promotional purposes. 

Where we are hosting and managing a virtual exhibition or event Purpose Events (and any third-party platform provider acting on our behalf) will use your personal information provided during the registration process to host and manage this digital event and for analyzing visitor interactions and traffic with a view to improving the event experience for visitors and provide you with a personalized experience. When you entering a virtual space such as an exhibition booth your personal information may be shared with the sponsor and exhibitor to allow them to engage with you subject to the attendee privacy notice you may have been provided during the registration and login process. 

Purpose Events may use your personal information to send you newsletters, offers, or other marketing emails that keep you up to date with our news, events, and products that may be of interest. Depending on the nature of your interaction with us and applicable data protection laws, you may have actively given us your consent or we may be entitled to rely on your implied consent or legitimate interests to market to you. The opportunity to opt-out of future marketing will always be provided and you have the right to amend your marketing preferences at any time.

Many of our events and products are co-branded or sponsored by third-party exhibitors or sponsors. We may share your details with these third-party partners. Where this happens, a clear notice will be provided that gives the opportunity to opt out or opt into such sharing as required by applicable data protection laws. The third-party partner’s use of your details will be in accordance with the notice provided and its privacy policy and is not covered by this Privacy Policy.

Any personal information provided on the Contact Us page will be used only to provide a response or to service the request or inquiry made. The information provided will not be added to the marketing or customer prospect databases of Purpose Events operating divisions.

Data Protection

We use a variety of measures to keep personal information safe and prevent unauthorized access to or use or disclosure of it.  Electronic data and databases are stored on secure computer systems with control over access to information using both physical and electronic means. Our colleagues receive data protection training and there is a set of detailed security and data protection policies that colleagues are required to follow when handling personal information.

While we take all reasonable steps to ensure that personal information will be kept secure from unauthorized access, we cannot guarantee it will be secure during transmission by you to a website or other services, as we do not control that transmission.  We make use of HTTPS (HTTP Secure) whereby the communication protocol is encrypted via Transport Layer Security (TLS) for secure communication over a computer network. The website is loaded via HTTPS, represented by the lock icon in your web browser ensuring the transmission is secured with a certificate issued by an official security certificate authority to the Purpose Events operating it. 

Information Gathered from Cookies and Other Similar Technologies

Purpose Events uses cookies and other similar technologies (such as pixels and advertising tags) to ensure the quality of your visit. In particular, Purpose Events uses cookies to recognize users and their behaviors across our Services, streamline the login process, maintain a Member’s state while using our Services, and remember user-specific preferences. You can always set your browser not to accept cookies; however, you should be aware that in some cases, some of our Services may not function as a result. 

When leaving or coming to our sites, Purpose Events may also collect information concerning both the site you came from and the one you go to, as well as the time of your visit. We collect this information in alignment with the security and privacy protocol outlined in this Policy and endeavor to utilize privacy-preserving technologies such as Internet Protocol (“IP”) masking, which allows us to only collect the information we need, in anonymous or aggregate form, about your site visit.  

Unless relevant law provides otherwise, we also collect (or rely on others who collect) information about your device when you have not engaged with our Services (e.g., ad ID, IP address, operating system, and browser information) so we can provide you with relevant ads and better understand their effectiveness. You can always opt-out from our use of data from cookies and similar technologies that track your behavior on the sites of others for ad targeting and other ad-related purposes, and you can do so by visiting your Settings.  

Purpose Events shares personal data with partner organizations, vendors, third-party service providers and agents who work on our behalf or closely with us to offer content such as courses, training opportunities, webinars, advertisements, conferences, and career-specific newsletters, to our Members. We may share your personal information with third parties who assist in providing our products and services and administering our business. These include IT and marketing technology host suppliers, web and data hosting providers, mailing houses, ad servers, logistics and general services contractors, debt collection agencies, onsite health and safety partners, event registration partners, sales platform providers, communication tool providers, stand designers/builders/fitters, suppliers of sponsorship/marketing/PR collateral and other event collaboration partners. Personal information will only be shared with third parties if and to the extent it is necessary for them to provide our products and services to you.

Your Rights

We want to ensure you remain in control of your personal information. We try to ensure the personal information held about you is accurate and up-to-date. We will always provide the opportunity to unsubscribe or opt out of future marketing communications. For example, in some regions, such as the European Economic Area, you have rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”) which allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. These rights include the right to access and port your data, delete your data, change or correct your data, as well as the right to object to or limit the ways in which your data is used.   

Depending on your state of residence within the United States, your privacy rights and our obligations may differ. For example, residents of California, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (the “CCPA”) have the right to know which categories of data Purpose Events holds about them, as well as the categories of third-parties to which that date is sold or shared.

Furthermore, California residents are able to opt-out of the disclosure of their sensitive personal information upon registration and can exercise that right anytime throughout their engagement with Purpose Events by accessing their settings. Californians may also designate a representative to act on their consumer rights, although Purpose Events retains the right to verify that the representative is acting under your direction. Residents of Nevada too, have heightened privacy rights over their personal information when used in combination with another identifier (like a financial account number). Rest assured that, regardless of your state of residence, Purpose Events upholds our obligation to protect your personal data to the fullest extent of applicable law.

Purpose Events content is not intended to be used by children. By registering for HealthIMPACT you affirm that you are an adult over eighteen years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
